DW ANNOUNCES NEW TITLE SPONSOR
The Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Race Organisation is delighted to announce that clothing brand ThruDark has signed a multi-year deal to become the title sponsor of the Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Race.
As such, from 2025 the race will be renamed to become The ThruDark Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Race.
Founded by ex-special forces members, Louis Tinsley and Anthony Stazicker in 2017, ThruDark has quickly grown to become one of the UK’s leading premium performance clothing brands.
ThruDark’s objective is to be an industry leader across performance clothing, from technical outdoor to activewear and everyday utility pieces. ThruDark has pledged to always strive to inspire current and new generations to pursue fulfilment in demanding physical and mental pursuits wherever they may be.
ThruDark’s background and philosophy is perfectly aligned with DW’s brand values. With Tinsley and Stazicker having previously served with the Special Boat Service as Swimmer Canoeists, they fully appreciate the military background and history that the DW has. ThruDark’s mantra, “endeavour through adversity” also completely mirrors DW’s values for any competitor taking part.
Going forward, ThruDark will not only provide the brand’s backing for the event, but will also be putting its brand’s high performance outerwear to the test in taking on the race personally.
“We’ve been aware of the Devizes to Westminster race for some time owing to our backgrounds, it’s not just a great event for us to support as a brand but we can’t wait to give it a go ourselves,” said ThruDark co-founder Louis Tinsley.
“We’re always looking to support stories of Endeavour Through Adversity, it’s what ThruDark is about and this doesn’t come more gruelling or closer to our military heritage than the Devizes to Westminster race. We’re excited to get stuck in and dust off the paddles once more.” Added ThruDark co-founder Anthony Stazicker.
