How the DW site is changing

It’s here! An updated website for the Devizes to Westminster Canoe Race.

For those of you that have previously competed in the race, or have followed the event before, you’ll be aware that every year the race takes place across Easter weekend. Those of you who are new to the race, get ready to delay eating your Easter eggs next year!

Easter comes early in 2024, which means that the race takes place across the 29th March - 1st April, and with the event occurring on the last Sunday of March, you’ll have to remember to ensure you keep an eye on the clock changes at 2am on the Sunday morning.

Going forward, we will be providing regular updates and news to the site, which of course will also be shared across our social channels.

If you have any stories you wish to be showcased, then please do get in touch with us. There’s so many great stories and reasons behind people’s decisions to tackle this great event and it’s time for them to not only be heard but also shared across the wider DW community.

Entries for next year’s race aren’t open yet, but we will announce this as soon as they are. However, that doesn't stop you from getting your training started now.

It’s not just the training on the water either. It’s time to get your support crew recruited, get them integrated and focus on the many aspects and challenges DW provides.

As ever, if you aren’t racing but want to be part of the event, we are always on the lookout for volunteers. This race could not function without the help of the hundreds of volunteers that come forward each year, and any help you can give, no matter how big or small, will be greatly appreciated.

If you do wish to volunteer, please contact Rachel Dennis on dwvolunteers@gmail.com.

In the meantime, keep your eye on the site going forward.

There will be lots more information and news added over the coming weeks and months, as well as further advice on how best to prepare for the race.

But in the meantime, enjoy your training for what will no doubt be another great DW canoe race.
