The DW Organisation is delighted to announce that Jonathan White will be the special guest speaker at the DW Prize Giving on Saturday 8 June. For anyone who has seen one of Jon's TEDx talks or benefited from his expertise in leadership, this is an event not to miss - even if you are not a prize winner, this will be a great opportunity to hear Jon speak and gain from his insights.
Jon White needs little introduction for DW competitors - a former Royal Marines officer, Jon's last command was of 40 Commando Reconnaissance Troop, which he led on patrol in Afghanistan in 2010. It was there that he stepped on a Pressure Plate Improvised Explosive Device and lost three limbs.
Since then, Jon has been on the road to recovery, continually seeking new challenges and proving that a strong will and sharp mind can overcome almost anything.
Most notably, he successfully completed the Devizes to Westminster Canoe Race in 2012 with Colour Sergeant Lee Waters in over 28 hours. A feat they repeated in 2019, knocking an incredible two hours off their previous time.
Jon has built a home for Channel 4’s Grand Designs. And he has forged a career as a leadership consultant, helping organisations improve their performance by focusing on better leadership. He also works as a motivational speaker.
As Jon says, “I deliver keynote speeches at conferences and events. I tell my story and use it to inspire people by making them realise what they are capable of and what their organisations are capable of.”
NOTE: The DW prize giving is at Newbury Rugby Club. Events kick off with a buffet lunch at 1pm, followed by the formal event at 2pm. All welcome. Newbury Rugby Club is at Monks Lane, Newbury RG14 7RW.
